B.5. Disclosure
Beginning February 1 of each year, each Member must disclose to the Ethics Panel of their chamber a full accounting of all financial holdings and accounts under their direct control for review. Once begun, this disclosure must happen monthly on the first business day of the month for the remainder of the legislative year.
This final clause of Section 2 mandates much more frequent periodic review of members’ financial disclosures than the current system. Instead of an annual statement, the member must prepare one monthly and submit it to the Ethics Panel for review—no hiding in the fog of the passage of time.
