A.2(a). Election

The President and Vice President are elected independently from one another. Neither Congress nor any other body has the power to join the Presidential and Vice Presidential ballots in any way. A Presidential candidate may not declare a Vice Presidential running mate. Both offices are elected by a popular vote of the People, held during the usual national election and settled by acceptance voting.
